AMC 2026 — Additive Manufacturing Conference Türkiye
It was a privilege to participate in the AMC – Additive Manufacturing Conference Türkiye 2026 and engage with the leading minds of the industry. During the conference, I had the opportunity to present our latest research conducted at ODTÜ | KATAMER focusing on the process optimizations and technical complexities of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). Discussing the potential of metal AM and sharing insights with fellow researchers and industry experts was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to the organizers for this productive environment. Looking forward to the future of additive manufacturing!
AdımODTÜ 2025 — Altay Hattı: Scalable Target Tracking System
Now that the long-awaited AdımODTÜ Undergraduate Research Projects booklet has been published, I am finally able to share the details of our “Altay Hattı” project — developed as an alternative to high-cost testing and prototyping processes in the defense industry. After a two-month hiatus following the presentation, it is a great pleasure to bring the outcomes of this technical journey to those interested.
Key Architectural Focus Areas:
- Platform Contribution & Development: We directly contributed to the hardware and software layers of the MidiBot mobile robot platform at METU-ODTU ROMER Center for Robotics and AI, modernizing it with AI Camera and 360° LiDAR integration.
- Scalability: Leveraging a hardware-independent logic, we demonstrated that algorithms validated on a compact platform can be directly transferred to full-scale systems such as RCWS or UGVs.
- Cost-Benefit Optimization: We delivered a safe and cost-effective testing and validation ecosystem in a laboratory environment, minimizing R&D costs in defense technology development.
- Advanced Sensor Fusion: By fusing image processing and LiDAR data, we integrated precise target identification and tracking capabilities for operation under dynamic conditions.

I am thrilled to announce the successful completion of my one-month volunteer internship at METU ROMER. During this period, I had the invaluable opportunity to deepen our work on the CHERI project — an international initiative I had already been contributing to before the internship. Additionally, with the contributions of Buğra Koku and my teammates, we brought an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) back to life, combining theory with hands-on practice. I extend my sincere gratitude to the entire METU ROMER team, and especially to Buğra Koku and Atakan Durmaz for this unique learning experience.
AYDEM Yenilenebilir Enerji — Power Plants Internship
I am thrilled to announce the completion of my power plants internship at Aydem Yenilenebilir Enerji, where I worked as a Mechanical Maintenance Intern Engineer. During this time, I had the opportunity to closely observe the installation, maintenance, and management of renewable energy power plants, with a particular focus on hydroelectric power plants. I would like to express my gratitude to all the engineers and technical staff within the company, especially Maintenance Manager Mr. Özkan Ulu and Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Mr. Aşır Eser Bozkurt, for generously sharing their knowledge and experience. It was a wonderful and productive internship experience.
Bursagaz — Summer Internship
I am excited to share that I have concluded my voluntary summer internship at Bursagaz, a part of the SOCAR Türkiye family. I am grateful to my department manager Gökhan Çimencioğlu, my mentor Murat Şahin, and HR Business Partner Yeşim Doğruer for their guidance and support throughout this internship. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the engineers and technicians who shared their knowledge and expertise. It has been a pleasure to be a part of the SOCAR Türkiye family.
Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship — METU
I am writing to share a group photo taken after the final presentation of the “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” course, which I took as an elective at METU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. I am happy that I and my teammates Teoman Efe Aycan, Elif Bilge Çelik, and Okan Dalan created a satisfactory final project within the scope of the course. I would like to express my respect and gratitude to our instructor Mr. Tugrul Atasoy for his dedication to teaching this enlightening course for many years.
PVCon2024 — 4th International Photovoltaic Science and Technologies Conference
The 4th International Photovoltaic Science and Technologies Conference (PVCon2024), the most comprehensive event in Turkey in the fields of solar energy and photovoltaic science and technologies, was held at the Middle East Technical University Culture and Congress Center on July 3–5, 2024. I was thrilled to be a part of the Local Organizing Committee for this event, organized under the auspices of ODTÜ-GÜNAM. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization, especially Emre Demirezen.
